AHM Laced Nut
A new guitar Nut design. A Zero fret leads to a hardwood Nut where the strings lace through holes that are inverted slots. The downward pressure on the Zero Fret is caused by the Nut-slots being lower than the Zero Fret.
[Care must be taken not to design a weak Nut that could break under string pressure and throw wood bits, perhaps a steel wire would work better than wood?]
This wood Nut can be “lined” with a SS wire form that protrudes downward at its ends and is glues into holes drilled under the wood Nut. This will stabilize the design.
